Jason,

One of the nice things about going with a contractor is that you don't have to get into the details of manufacturers. However, the down side is I do not have many of these details. I believe that the contractor got the gasket from Ferguson.

The lumber comes from a local lumber yard, as do most of the finishes, etc.

We are going with Serious Windows. They come later this month, and I will be posting pictures and thoughts when I get my hands on them. I'm not sure where you are located I know one of the challenges with these super high performance windows, especially when they are filled with gas, is altitude differences can be a challenge to find a vendor. You need to be very careful when working with Serious Windows. Review your order very very carefully we had to send it back a couple of times because of mistakes and changes in window sizes because they didn't support what we ordered.

If you are seriously considering going down the Passive House route I highly recommend sending an email to our architect Dave Brach. Good luck and I'd love to know your experience with your home.

I'm interested in your project because my wife and I are currently remodeling a house with ideas of meeting the Passive House standard. I'd be very interested in seeing a manufacturer/supplier list for some of the things you will be using in your house--the rubber gaskets, for example. Do you have windows picked out? We're still in discussion on that one. I'd like to go with Serious Windows. I enjoy reading about and seeing your progress!

JVWCD is the largest of the Salt Lake Valley water companies, providing water service to most of the Valley. They've started the water conservancy garden as a public service because they're faced with two options in the next 10 years:
A. Encourage people to build low water use gardens, rather than use half of our culinary water on our lawns
B. Build billion dollar water projects on controversial bodies like the Bear River.
So naturally the education and garden examples they have at their site are quite useful.
